  Coil nails are a type of wire nails which are collated in certain angles (typically 15 degree) together in coils by steel wires, and so they are also called wire collated nails.   Coil nails are differentiated by diameter, length, shank type, surface finish, etc.   Shank types may include ring shank, screw shank and smooth shank.   Surface finish, by treatment techniques, may include electro-galvanized, hot- dipped galvanized and bright finish.   In practice, for coil nails without galvanization, a layer of painting is applied on the surface on the nails to avoid rusting.   Coil nails are compatible with pneumatic nail guns, which are also called pneumatic nailers.  

    Electro-Galvanized Coil Nails Electro-galvanized coil nails have a thin layer of zinc that provides some corrosion protection. They are typically used in areas that require minimal corrosion protection, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas susceptible to water or humidity.
